Sustainability in the Economic Sciences

The economic sciences are crucial for the sustainability transformation of the economy: for the training of future specialists and managers, for research into sustainable economic models, for advising politicians and administrators and in the development of innovative, sustainability-oriented business models for companies and start-ups.

Report on Continuing Education Programmes

Together with econcept, WWF examined the extent to which continuing education departments are aligned with sustainability, which sustainability topics have been integrated into CAS, DAS, MAS, MBA and EMBA programmes, and which teaching and learning approaches are used to foster sustainability related competences. Based on these results, recommendations were formulated for the responsible actors:

A Master’s thesis conducted at the University of Geneva further analysed the perspectives of programme directors, graduates and employers regarding the integration of sustainability into CAS programmes in Economics and Business education.
